Here are a few random facts about us:
-We left sunny Florida after 13 years and moved to central California in June, 2013 for John's dream job. We're just a few hours away from Napa.....one of my favorite places on earth!
-We met at a sushi restaurant in Destin on August 31, 2000. The friend I was with was trying to set me up with Mr. Sew Fab's best friend. Things didn't work out as she had planned.....
-John (a.k.a. Mr. Sew Fab) is an F-15 pilot and military guy by day.....and a mover of large boxes of fabric and fixer of computer problems by night.
-When I'm not being a quilt shop owner I'm also a veterinarian. I only practice occasionally now.....I got a little burned out in my former profession. The quilting world is a much happier place! One day in the spring of 2009 I decided I'd had enough of the vet world and that I wanted to open a quilt shop. So I jumped off that "cliff" and never looked back! Mr. Sew Fab was 100% on board. That's just the kind of guy he is!
-I grew up in Oxford, Ohio - the home of Miami University! I went to college at Miami and Vet School at Ohio State.
-We have three dogs, Emma Jane, Sammy and Baxter and two cats, Cassi and Bailey. They are our kids!
-I love pink. Pink is not just a color.......it's a way of life!
-I love Hello Kitty.
-I love running. I discovered that randomly when I was trying to lose vacation weight after we overindulged on a trip to Napa in August, 2011. I was walking for exercise and one day I decided that walking was too slow so I just started running. I ran 6 miles my first day. I am now training for a marathon. The most I've ever ran at once is 20 miles.
-I love cooking, baking, sipping wine and making most of our food from scratch.
-I love Italian food.
-I love to eat raw cookie dough. Yes. I live on the edge.
-I love building dollhouses.
-I don't drink soda or anything with caffeine.
-I live in yoga clothes or pajamas or running clothes. It's one of the many benefits of working from home.
-I went to Hawaii once via Japan. It's a long story. I've also been to Paris, London, Brussels, Venice, Cinque Terre (Italian Riviera), Tuscany, Holland and Germany. My favorite places are Tuscany, Napa and anywhere with snowy mountains.
-I learned to sew when I was 5 years old. My Mom was working on a needlepoint project and when she left for a moment I just picked it up and started sewing. And I haven't stopped since.
