Emma's Pick Of The Week - Flights Of Fancy

Hey There, it's me Emma Jane. I have such a pretty pick for you today. It's the Par Avion fabric from the Flights of Fancy Collection by Paula Prass. What's that? It's hard to see the fabric with me laying on it! O.K......here's another picture of it.

This fabric is so tropical and fun with birds and butterflies and it was inspired by the designers month long vacation in Hawaii. Now, I don't know what Hawaii is but I don't think I like it. Whenever I hear that word it means that Mommy and Daddy are leaving me for 10 days and sending home strange pictures like this.

I also love this aqua fabric with the trellis design. It goes perfectly with the first fabric I showed you.

Mommy is in the middle of a project with all these fabrics and that's why I get to lay all over them. I'll show you pictures when it's done!

Emma's Pick Of The Week - Betsy's Closet

Hey There, it's me Emma Jane! I've made another great pick this week. It's the Betsy's Closet Quilt Kit using fabrics from the Doll Dresses Collection. It's such a cute quilt that was inspired by the designers love of childhood dolls. All those adorable little dresses are done with easy fusible applique and you can add lots and lots of embellishments like buttons and bows and ribbon roses. Here's a close up view.

This quilt is so cute that it almost makes me want to wear some of those dog dresses that Mommy bought for me......almost. But my dresses don't seem to fit anymore - I don't know why. I think they shrank. But let's not dwell on that.

This is the fabric that's used in the border. It's my favorite fabric from the Doll Dresses Collection. It's got such a sweet and vintage feel to it.

Emma's Pick Of The Week - Figgy Pudding

Hey there, it's me Emma Jane! I've got a great pick of the week for you - the Figgy Pudding Quilt Kit by Basic Grey for Moda. I know, I know.....it's kind of hard to see what the kit looks like when it's all wrapped up like that. But for some weird reason no one will let me anywhere near fabric if it's not covered in plastic! Anyway, it's a fairly easy quilt to piece together and there's a really cool technique where you fold the trees to make them dimensional. Here's what the finished quilt looks like.

Isn't it pretty? And the fabrics have so much detail and the colors are so warm and rich. This one is my absolute favorite fabric from the Figgy Pudding Collection.

It reminds me of helping Mommy and Daddy pick out a Christmas Tree on a crisp winter day. And yes, it does get crisp here in northern Florida.

Emma's Pick Of The Week

Hey there, it's me Emma Jane! I'm so excited because I got a promotion today! I used to be the Sew Fab Mascot but now because of my incredible sense of style I've been asked to write my own "Emma's Pick Of The Week" column. And I guess a big promotion also means I get a beautiful new pink polka dot princess chair with my name embroidered on it.

My choice this week is anything from the Little Lady Collection by Lakehouse Dry Goods.

Don't you just love the Pink Cupcakes and Black Cupcakes fabric? I think they would make adorable aprons for someone to wear as they bake gourmet dog cookies. Or you could make an adorable quilt or a sweet little dress for your favorite little lady. And while we're on the subject of pink things I just have to show you this:

My Mommy thinks this is the greatest house she's ever seen. But, it's in Taiwan so I don't think we'll be moving in any time soon. But a girl can dare to dream.

O.K. Now that we're all suffering from "pink overload" I'm gonna go take a nap. Doing all this writing is exhausting.

Where's Max?

Oh no - Someone just asked me where's Max!!! Everyone has seen Emma but I've been a bad Dog Mommy and forgot to put up a picture of my boy. So here he is having an amazing time playing on the beach! Max is an 8 yr old Golden Retriever and he LOVES to swim in the water and roll in the sand. He taught Emma everything she knows about being a dog! And he's such a good boy and he's already forgiven me for forgetting to put his picture up earlier. Thanks Max!

They're Finally Done!

Ahhhhh......they're finally done. This is the yummy fabric project that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. But I have a valid excuse for why it took me so long to get such a simple project done......

It's kinda hard to finish a bag when your cat refuses to move off of the partially completed project. And those of us with kitties know the rules..... you absolutely, positively cannot disturb a happy cat. So a huge thanks goes out to Cassi for finally allowing me to finish these! And now she can have her bag back!

Jane's Aviary Bag

So, my Mom fell in love with the Aviary Collection and grabbed a pre-cut bundle a few months ago. But here's the problem.....she hasn't touched a sewing machine in about 30 years. And when I mentioned that she could make a tote bag with the fabric she became a little obsessed with that idea. I bet you can see where this is going already. Obviously, I re-claimed the bundle and made her a bag using the "Weekender Tote" pattern. I love the way this bag turned out and I'm going to offer it as a kit. So here's your bag Mom - I hope you like it!

Vacation!

Well, we're back from vacation in Yellowstone and we had a great time. Even an "Indoor Girl" can enjoy a week in the great outdoors! John took these AMAZING photos and if you're interested you can see more of them here.

Yummy!

Just look at all this yummy fabric goodness! I had a great idea for a cute little kit I'm going to make up with these beauties (well, obviously there will be 2 different kits - the celery and baby blue colorway and the black and pink colorway). I'll be gone on vacation all next week (woo hoo!) so I'll be getting to these right when I get back. I just wanted to give you a little sneak peak!

Pittsburgh Market

Pittsburgh Quilt Market has come and gone and we're so excited about all the fantastic new goodies we've ordered! Things should start trickling in over the next few weeks. Unfortunately, I was so busy drooling over all the beautiful new fabrics and patterns that I forgot to take a lot of photos. But I did manage to get a picture with the amazing Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs. The gorgeous quilt behind us is her new "Vintage Christmas Quilt." Everything about it is perfect and I'm definitely making one! I'll let you know once the kits are ready to go!
