Quilt Market - Patty Young

Ahhhh.....Quilt Market was great! It's such a feast for the eyes to see all the beautiful new fabric and patterns and booths. I talked to so many amazing, wonderful, nice and incredibly talented designers. I'll be posting lots of pictures over the next few days. But, I have to start with Patty Young. And yes, that's John in the middle. He came to Quilt Market with me - Yay!
Patty is a designer for Michael Miller who created the Andalucia Collection. Yes, the fabric that's in the Giveaway this month.

Scroll on down to the October 1st post if you're currently thinking - "Giveaway??? What Giveaway?" Or click here.

Anyway, Patty and her husband Jon are the nicest people. Patty actually convinced me to get on Twitter! She's an expert at it and she taught me how to Tweet. You should have seen the look on John's face (my John, not Patty's Jon!) when I said I'd like to start Tweeting. He's been trying to get me on Twitter for months now. It took Patty about 2 seconds to convince me I should be on Twitter. Sorry, John - I guess men aren't the only ones who don't listen to their Sweeties!

Here's one more photo of Patty's booth where you can see a little bit more of her adorable new patterns in the background.
Lots more to come!

Happy Sewing,
Jenny

Emma's Pick Of The Week - The Blues

Hey there.......it's me.....Emma Jane.......and my big brother, Max. We've got the blues. Mommy and Daddy have been in Houston at Quilt Market for 4 days. They're looking at all the new fabrics and patterns that will be coming out in the next few months. And they're having all sorts of fun without us. Well......I'm guessing Mommy is enjoying it a lot more than Daddy is.

Anyway, we're staying with Grandma. Don't get me wrong - we love Grandma. And the dog cookies are a little more "free flowing" here if ya know what I mean. But we still miss Mommy and Daddy. So, I made my very own brand new Blue Fat Quarter Bundle to match my mood.

What do you think? I can put together a pretty snazzy Fat Quarter Bundle, can't I? I used fabrics from the La Grand Jardin Collection. This is my favorite fabric from the collection. It's called Jolie Jardin.
All of these fabrics are by Lakehouse Dry Goods. And I LOVE Lakehouse so talking about their pretty fabric is making me feel better already!

Well, I better go. Grandma is about to give us our 200th dog cookie of the day.

XOXO,
Emma Jane

Emma's Pick Of The Week - Spooktacular

Hey there, it's me Emma Jane and my big brother Max. As you can see, we're ready for Halloween with our.....ummmm......interesting costumes. And there's still plenty of time for you to get ready for Halloween too. That's why today's pick of the week is the Spooktacular Collection.
You could make an adorable Trick Or Treat bag with one of the Jelly Rolls or Charm Packs. Or a cute little quilt to decorate your house and make all the ghosts and goblins feel at home!
Right now I think I'm going to go chew up Mommy's favorite shoes to "thank" her for this costume. And could someone please come bail me out of jail? I'm prisoner number IBAK9 (Yes, pun intended!)

XOXO,
Emma Jane

Emma's Pick Of The Week - Petite Fleurs

Hey there, it's me Emma Jane. My pick of the week is the Petite Fleurs Quilt Kit by Fig Tree Quilts. My Mommy saw it at Quilt Market back in May where she gets to preview all the goodies before they come out. She said it was one of her favorite quilts and that she HAS to make one.
It's just a simple patchwork quilt but the end result is breathtaking. It's even available in 2 different color options. You can choose the Patisserie version (the more pastel quilt draped over the chair in the background) or the Mill House Inn version (the one in the foreground that has some touches of dark brown).

Patisserie on the left, Mill House Inn on the Right.

I can't even begin to tell you how many quilts my Mommy is in the middle of making. And how many more kits she has stashed away.....I can't count that high. But this one just made it to the top of the list!
I can't wait to take a nap on it once it's finished!

XOXO,
Emma Jane

Emma's Pick Of The Week - French Kiss!

Hey there, it's me Emma Jane! Pucker up because my choice for Pick Of The Week is called the "French Kiss Quilt Kit" - O0h, la, la! Giving kisses is my favorite thing to do so this quilt kit was an obvious choice.
It's not as complicated as it looks! It's by Fig Tree Quilts and they always have the most amazing techniques that make assembly easier. It uses simple strip piecing instead of having to do complicated "Y-seams" or make templates. And the fabric in the kit is absolutely gorgeous. It's from the new Mill House Inn Collection and it was inspired by the English Countryside.
I hear that my ancestors were British so this makes me like the quilt even more! And the fabrics have names like Afternoon Tea and Goose Down Pillows and Floral Chintz. Ahhhh......it's elegant but sweet and feminine at the same time - just like me!
Gotta go! Bailey (the cat) is chasing me out of the photo shoot.

XOXO,
Emma Jane

P.S. As always, the fabric is covered in plastic. They won't let me near fabric that's not covered in plastic!

The Cutest Baby Dress Ever!

This has got to be the cutest baby dress ever! Hmmmm......should I say that considering I'm the one that made the dress? Probably not. But it's so cute I can't help myself!!! I even put fabric covered buttons at the base of the shoulder straps!!!

I made this dress for a darling little 2 year old girl named Claire who was adopted by my best friend, Annie on March 12. I used the Tea Party Twirl Pattern by Bananafana.

It was pretty quick and easy to make and you can go wild adding all sorts of rick rack, buttons and bows! I used fabric from the Flights of Fancy Collection by Paula Prass for Michael Miller.

I really think I need to make another dress using these fabrics from the Doll Dresses Collection:

Or maybe these fabrics from the Little Lady Collection.....

Hmmm......decisions, decisions. What do you think?

Happy Sewing,
Jenny

Emma's Pick Of The Week......Wait A Minute!

Hey There, it's me Bailey. Where's Emma, you ask? Well......all I had to do was distract her with a shiny new chew toy and she has no idea I've taken over the Pick Of The Week. And my choice this week is the Aviary Jelly Roll. If you've never tried to use Jelly Rolls before you really should. They are so much fun to play with.
And I picked the Aviary Collection because bird watching is one of my favorite things to do.
You could make a beautiful quilt for your kitty to lay on.
Or, I guess you could make it for yourself if you have to.
Well, it's time for my 18th Cat Nap of the day.

XOXO,
Bailey

Emma's Pick Of The Week - Bunnies!

Hey there, it's me Emma Jane. I wanted to introduce Bella, who's one of my very best friends. We like to eat baby carrots together in the morning and then I give her big sloppy kisses on the top of her head.
Bella got me thinking about all of the adorable bunny stuff that we have in the shop. Like this....
And this.....
And this (there are leaping bunnies in the border).....
And we even have really cool Bunny Damask fabric that just arrived. It's from the Hushabye Collection and it comes in a bunch of different colors. I thought Mommy was going to pass out from the cuteness when she saw this for the first time:
Well, Bella and I are gonna get back to sunbathing on the deck now. Have a Bun-tastic day!

XOXO,
Emma Jane

P.S. Mommy made a whole bunch of these yesterday because she and Daddy were celebrating their 9th anniversary. Awwww.......how sweet!
