Hello everyone! This will be the third and final "chit chat" about Quilt Market. There were so many great new patterns at Quilt Market that it was hard to narrow them down. This will just be a sampling of all the great new things that will be coming your way!
First up is clothing. This is the Monique Dress.....
And the Claire Cami Dress.....
These are both by Serendipity Studios and they are already in the shop! She's also got an amazing book coming out soon called Sew Serendipity. It will includes patterns, tons of sewing tips and all sorts of ideas for how to embellish and change the designs to match your style. Here's the cover.....
The book includes skirts.....
And dresses.....
And jackets.....
You can also add to your wardrobe with the Berry Picker Skirt by Portobello Pixie.....
And the Petal Skirt.....
And for those that are as obsessed with lounge wear as I am we'll have the Sway Pants.....
And the Happy Feet slippers by Favorite Things....
And as always there were lots of cute new purse patterns at Market. This one is the City Market Tote by Kati Cupcake (better image coming soon).....
And two adorable new bag patterns by Patty Young. The Stella Handbag.....
And the Sun & Surf Tote....
And Quilt Market wouldn't be Quilt Market without lots of quilts. I absolutely love the La Playa quilt by Minick & Simpson. I think their color combo is gorgeous but I also think this quilt would look fantastic in more bright and tropical colors like aqua, lime green, hot pink and orange....
And of course Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs had a booth full of amazing applique and pieced quilts. I'm crazy about the Park Lane Quilt....
And her latest addition to the Bitty Pincushions series is a cute little owl....
She also had several "oh so sweet" baby quilts. This is Binkies on Broadway which includes directions for either the elephants.....
Or the bunnies.....
And more baby sweetness in the form of Sweet Dreams Lily....
And Nighty Night Will.....
Fig Tree Quilts always has beautiful, dreamy and snuggle-able quilts like Saltwater Taffy.....
And Clovers....
Thimble Blossoms has some amazing new designs coming out this summer. They have made a new version of their incredibly popular Piece of Cake Quilt.....
And this cute design called Picnic Rollup has optional ties you can use to bundle it up.....
There was also an adorable quilt by Cotton Way using the same fabrics.....
And of course there were some great new quilts from Fresh Cut Quilts. This is called Upstairs Downstairs....
And this is their new applique Christmas quilt covered in adorable stockings.....
And finally, here's Merry Go Round by The Noble Wife. I LOVE those pinwheels.....
I think I've covered just about everything! Now, I've gotta go finish placing my orders for all these goodies!

Jenny

Quilt Market Spring 2010 - Part 2
Ahhhh......now I get to tell you all about the Fabric Eye Candy that we saw at Quilt Market. First up is Amy Butler's new collection, "Soul Blossom" which should be available in October.....
Amy Butler's ability to mix colors and patterns is amazing. This exotic collection is Amy's way of sharing the culture, colors and architecture she experienced while traveling through India. It's full of dreamy jewel tones mixed together in ornate patterns. I love this brown one with a sort of Art Nouveau feel to it. It's called Fuchsia Tree and the color is Carmine....
And this is Passion Lily in Cerise Pink....
And this is Peacock Feathers in Sea Glass......
Next up is "Dream On" by Urban Chiks. Love it! Love, love, love it! (Expected to arrive in October).
This collection is meant to remind us of the bedding we had as little girls. It also reminds me of vintage Lilly Pulitzer prints. (Can you call prints that are 20-25 yrs old vintage? I dunno but I am!). These sweet florals and ticking stripes are in luscious shades of Pink Passion, Hello Yellow, Moonlight, Grass, Blue Moon and Crush. There's even a multi-patch print in two different colorways that will make perfect "cheater quilts." A cool blue colorway.....
And a warm pink and orange colorway.....
I love this delicate little Pink Passion floral print.....
And this trellis floral design in Blue Moon....
And now we move on to the It's A Hoot Collection by MoMo (expected to arrive in October).....
These little images just do not do this fabric collection justice! The owl print in the center is a huge print that's a fairy tale land full of owls and rolling hills and trees and flowers in a rainbow of colors. Like I said before - owls were a huge theme at market. They were everywhere! I'm in love with this little owl print in Raspberry.....
And these little leafy trees in Pistachio....
And these funky stripes and owls in Sky Blue.....
And now I'd like to introduce "Penelope" by Holly Holderman of Lakehouse Dry Goods which should be available around December. It was love at first sight with "Penelope". If you're around me for more than 10 seconds you'll learn that I love pink. I'm obsessed with pink. I'm a pink-aholic. If I had my own country the flag would be pink. So imagine my reaction when I saw this.....
The individual "fabric swatch images" for this collection aren't available yet but this is one of the "Inspiration Sheets" that Holly posted over on her awesome blog. When the images are available I'll create one of my little 9 Patch Swatch thingies to show you. But for now this will have to do as a little tease of the good things to come. And how amazing would these fabrics look in the "Girl In Paris" quilt by Fig Tree Quilts.....
Ooh la la! I'll definitely be making a pink and black "Girl In Paris" quilt!
I'm also falling hard for the McKenzie Collection by Dena Designs.....
And the Lily and Will Collection by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.....
And last but certainly not least is Patty Young's "Play Date" inspired by her two girls - Sydney and Sophie......
Well, this completes our tour of my favorite new fabrics from Quilt Market. Let me know what you think - do you have a favorite? Are there any collections that you're just dying to get your pretty, little hands on? I'd love to know!
Tomorrow I'll be back to tell you all about the patterns and kits I saw.
Happy Sewing,
Jenny

Quilt Market Spring 2010 - Part 1
Hello all you wonderful people out there in Blog World! I'm back from Quilt Market in Minneapolis and it was FANTASTIC! I made some great new friends (Karen and Kelly - You ladies rock!), saw lots of old friends and saw tons of beautiful new things that I can't wait to share with you. So here goes.....
The picture above is from Crabapple Hill's booth. Those twig trees covered in vintage labels got everyone to stop and stare! I want one of those in my house!
Next up is Sandi Henderson. She always has one of the best booths at market.
And the amazing chairs from Fall Market 2009 made it back. I was so excited to see them again....
Her new patterns look adorable. This is the Petal Skirt....
And this is the Berry Picker Skirt....
She's also coming out with an adorable adult version of her Ruffle Pants - Yay! I LIVE for cute loungewear. Unfortunately, I didn't see any of the new "Sway Pants" on display in her booth. But just imagine these pants in a grown up version.....
And on to Patty Young's booth. Patty and her husband Jon are some of the nicest people around. And they won 2nd place for Best Double Booth this year. Go Patty! And Jon!
Her booth was made up to look like a little girls room in bright shades of turquoise, purple and orange. And you can even see the edge of an aqua Hello Kitty sewing machine on the left. Just what every girl needs! And her new bag patterns are so cute....
Next up is Pillow & Maxfield's booth. Check this out....
It was a hot pink, turquoise and lime green outdoor paradise with a bench and birdhouses and stuffed birds everywhere. They covered all the birdhouses in fabric.....
And what bird would be seen in public without a flower on her head????
And then we're off to Lakehouse! I LOVE Lakehouse!
Their booth is always so feminine and full of wonderful little details....
Next up is Taylor Made Designs. Her apron patterns are amazing. They're so detailed and pretty that I'd want to wear them everywhere....not just in the kitchen....
And her new purses with frayed edges are adorable....
And Fig Tree Hill's booth is always a luscious, creamy, dreamy land of warmth and coziness....
And there's even a bed to curl up on when your feet get tired at Market.....
And the next place to rest is the ThimbleBlossoms booth.....
This was towards the end of the day and I seemed to be focused on taking photos of places to rest! Anway.....her booth was fresh and sweet and full of soft reds, greens and aquas.
The quilts in her booth were absolutely amazing and I kept going back to take another look....
Next up is Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs who completely amazed everybody with her nursery booth. She won first place for Best Double Booth. Her big blue ribbon is right in the middle!
Here is Lily's side of the nursery.....
And here is Will's side.....
And this is her adorable new Bitty Pincushion - it's an Owl this time. Did I mention that Owls were EVERYWHERE at Quilt Market this year? You couldn't go 10 ft without seeing another adorable Owl....
Serendipity Studio's booth is the worlds cutest little boutique full of gorgeous dresses, jackets and purses.....
And the designer, Kay is the bubbliest, sweetest, most energetic person I've ever meet. She never got tired of posing for pictures for the bazillion people who asked.....
And finally we're at Moda and the two quilt kits that got me to fall head over heels in love with them. This is a quilt from the new It's A Hoot Collection by MoMo. Yup. Owls again.
And this is the quilt from the new Dream On Collection by Urban Chiks. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the Dream On Collection for the first time. It. Was. Awesome.
Well folks....that's it for today. Tomorrow I'll tell you a little bit more about the fabric collections I'm gonna get. I can't wait!
Happy Sewing,
Jenny
