We Have A Winner!
The winner is Barb who said "The word "Verona" in your email drew me click over to your site and read
more. I recently purchased two pieces and would love some more to go
along! As for quilting, I am learning to use my long arm, still. Not
sure what the learning curve is, but probably dependent on how much time
I practice! But I still like to FMQ on my regular machine, too."Thanks to everyone who entered and congratulations to Barb!
Happy May! This month we're giving away a Verona Charm Pack, a Verona Jelly Roll and a Verona Apron Panel by Emily Taylor for Riley Blake Designs! It's a whole little bundle of Verona goodness!!!
Just leave a comment to be entered to win. Lately, I've been getting to the finish line on several of my quilts and I'm debating how I should quilt some of them. Sooo.....I'd love to hear what method you prefer - do you quilt them at home on your own machine? Do you send them out to a professional quilter? Do you do them by hand? Or do you do ties? Or is there another method that I'm completely unaware of or forgetting about?
Just leave your comment by Wednesday, May 9. We'll pick a winner on Thursday, May 10, 2012.
Oh....I'm still tallying up results from the last giveaway....that's the one where I asked what your favorite style of fabric is. And thanks to everyone who left a comment for the last Giveaway!
Good Luck and Happy Sewing,
Jenny

I've never sent a quilt away to be quilted - have tried button-tacking, straight line machine quilting, and am going to venture into free-motion soon.
Hand quilting. And some machine quilting. But quilting by check is not my choice!
I've done both machine quilting (assorted straight-line styles) and hand quilting. Thanks for chance to win! EMAIL: marshudson at comcast dot net
I machine quilt baby and lap size quilts. Otherwise, I take them to a friend that has a long-arm. Thanks for the giveaway!
I've only done straight-line sticking.. i'm not too skilled but hoping to get into free motion soon as my LQS is buying a long arm machine to rent out!
I quilt them all myself. I have a machine on a frame -- not quite a long arm, but much bigger than my regular machine.
I am fortunate to have a mid-arm machine and use it to do almost all my quilting. I can do free motion stippling but haven't mastered other free motion designs, so I do lots of pantographs. For the style of quilts I make, that works great. After quilting on a frame I'm not interested in quilting anything bigger than a table runner on my regular sewing machine.
If I get close, I start another one. I've quilted a couple myself, but keep thinking I need to learn more or send them out for quilting....catch 22
I quilt at home I have two boys and getting to my quilt group is impossible. I am macjine quilting a scrappy quilt right now and Iam loving it
I have a mid-arm quilting machine to finish my tops. Unfortunately, it isn't set up at the moment after a recent home remodel. I need to take care of that.
I quilt them on my home machine and lately I have been going back and forth between FMQ stippling and straight line echo quilting.
I would like to hand quilt but my hands can't do that anymore so I either send them out or I am trying to learn to machine quilt, mostly straight lines right now. Thanks for give away. Blessings Sandra
My only quilt done (so far) was quilted by a long arm artist. I'd love to learn to do it myself one day on my machine.
Thanks for a chance.
Awesome giveaway!! I always handquilt - it takes time but I love the look!
I love Verona! Thanks for the chance to win it! I quilt at home. I wouldn't want to take the most fun part of quilting and let someone else do it for me. :) Of course if you don't think that's the most fun part, then it's a great option to send it to someone else, but I wouldn't trust anyone else with my quilts.
I've done ties and machine quilting...would LOVE to get brave enough to quilt one by hand...and try free-motion too!
I quilt with my regular machine - too stubborn (or cheap?) to hire a long-arm quilter! btw - love the snazzy pink stripes!
Always, always, always quilt my own, on my mid-arm, free-motion, with a little straight line. If someone else quilts it, it's not really "mine"! Then again, I love FMQ nearly as much as I love piecing, so it doubles the amount of fun I get from each quilt . . .
I've done my quilts by hand, simply because I don't know how to machine quilt!!! I would love to learn how to do it, though, cause it will go much faster~
Thanks for the giveaway!!
Love Verona!
I've done hand quilting, tying, and simple machine quilting. I've never sent a quilt off or done the envelope style thing. What I'd most like is to get better at machine quilting.
I totally prefer sending my quilts to the long-arm quilter.... but lately, I can't afford it so much... so it's been struggling with them on my little machine.... And it's not so bad! Thanks for the chance to win!
I quilt them myself. First I did free-motion on my machine, basting and then starting in the middle, moving out to the borders. Now I have a machine in a frame, but the window is just 6" so I mostly trace pantos with a laser pointer. .. I would love to win this month, Verona is gorgeous and I want to make that apron!
I've made 1 large quilt and tied it, the others have been small so I just stitch on my machine.
Love that fabric!
I send my quilts out to be quilted. I don't have the patience to hand or machine quilt them myself.I would much rather spend my free time piecing.
Thanks for the great giveaway. I LOVE Verona!!!
I quilt mine at home on my machine when I am courageous enough. :-)
I am hand quilting a full size quilt now and it is taking forever! Doesn't help that it was 90 here today! YIKES! I have several tops I need to quilt. Haven't been able to figure out free motion quilting at all so they are all waiting until I can afford to have some one quilt them for me or I can hand quilt them. May be a while! :)

I have quilted mine at home with my machine, but I try to keep it pretty simple. My grandma has made almost all 54 members of our family quilts and she ties them. They are definitely a family tradition and I even have two!
I've never sent my quilt to be quilted, I like doing FMQ and Im still learning, so I think I need the practice!
No, I've never sent a quilt off...I usually just try to quilt it myself on my small machine. I signed up for the Craftsy class called Large Quilts on Small Machines, but I've not yet been able to access it online.
Plus....I live near Verona, VA!!!! I'd love to win this fabric.
I love quilting my own. Straight line is my favorite!
I've only actually finished quilting 1 quilt, and I'm in the middle of another. The first I did on my normal machine, which was pretty difficult. The one I'm working on now I'm doing by hand. It's just taking a loooooong time. I don't really want to send a top of mine off for someone else to quilt...then it wouldn't really feel like mine. :)
I have done both hand and machine quilting but think I prefer machine. (I say "think" because I'm still relatively new at it!) I haven't yet sent a quilt away to be quilted - maybe one day.
I send mine out to be quilted. I have a fabulous long arm quilter in my town, she is a true artist. Best of all if you are not sure what design you want you can hand over the reigns to her and she will pull the design from the fabric on your quilt. It is nice to be able to go in and say, "do what you think is best" and have complete confidence in her.
I prefer to send my quilts out but will do smaller projects myself!
I am a beginner with a little Hand quilting and machine quilting experience. would love to learn free motion quilting :D
Thanks for the chance!
i sent one out for quilting ... it was to big for me to handle. now i just make lap size and do them myself, one of which i tied. i did the rest on my machine, and now that i have a machine with a 10 inch throat, it's a breeze!
I machine quilt mine, can't afford to send them out and I have never tried hand quilting (yet!) Thanks for the giveaway. Linda
I hand quilt or use my domestic sewing machine. Unfortunately there aren't any long arm quilters in Portugal and it's way too expensive to send my quilts abroad.
I use my sewing machine for all of my quilting. My one and only hand quilted project was an over sized queen double wedding ring quilt for my parents which resulted in me "discovering" I really did need bifocals and a strong desire never to hand quilt anything that big again! Thanks for the chance to win some of the gorgeous Verona fabric.
I've only done machine quilting - not sure I have the patience for hand quilting like my mother. I love the riley blake apron - five little granddaughters keep me busy with their girly girl request -
The 2 small quilts I have completed were sewn on my sewing machine. Next up is a casual picnic quilt made from old denim that I plan to tie. I have the fabric for a queen-size quilt, and I imagine I'll try to quilt by machine--sending it off would be nice, though!
I sent one away to be hand-quilted, but that was more the situation than my preference. I am planning to machine quilt my next one on my home machine. Wish me luck!!! Thanks for the chance to win - I love Verona!!
I send mine away, although I have done a couple myself, with straight line quilting.
Years ago I always quilted by hand but now I do them on my domestic sewing machine. I looove the look of long arms and one day will make a special quilt to be sent out.
Thanks for a chance.
So far I have only quilted on my own machine at home :) Thanks for the chance to win such cute fabric!!
what a wonderful bunch of fabrics - thanks so much for the chance to win! I feel very fortunate that I have a longarm to finish my quilts with. Prior to that I used my Juki TL98E to quilt my quilts. Before that, I just didn't get them done - LOL!
I have done some of my own (very basic) machine quilting, and I have sent one out. My next quilt I am going to try tying. I love that look. Thanks so much for the chance!
I quilt all of my quilts myself on my sewing machine. I wouldn't attempt anything over a twin size though. I enjoy free motion and lately the blogs have exploded with tips and lessons, so I've been doing a lot of different designs. Thanks.
I do my own on my machine and have done a few small hand quilting projects. Thanks for the chance for lovely fabric!
Free-motion is my go-to. Thanks for the chance to win.
Free motion on my home machine. It's my favorite part of the quilting process!!!
I've yet to make my first quilt....sewing a lot instead, but I'd like to make a quilt and use ties as I have one from my great aunt like this I love.
Thanks or the giveaway! :)
I've only made one quilt, which did at home on machine. I don't like the idea of sending it out - feels like someone else did my work and that it's not "my" success.
I've done a couple by hand, but since my hands don't work as well as they used to, my next ones will be sent to someone to do by machine. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love quilting with my domestic machine - I try to learn a new FMQ motif or two with each quilt. I do hope to get a long arm one day though!
I'm making my very first quilt now, a baby quilt and I'm going to try my hand at finishing it myself on my machine. It will be the most basic of quilting since I'll be so afraid to ruin it.
I machine quilt them...somtimes in straignt lines, sometimes in allover meander...NEVER with a template...I am not able to be so accurate!
I've machine quilted all of my quilts - I have to admit that it's so much easier since I upgraded to a Janome with bigger throat space. I mainly do straight line or wavy line quilting.
I have to admit, I have never learned to hand quilt, so I machine quilt my bags and baby and lap quilts. But when I make that first queen-size quilt, I think I'll opt for a professional long-armer.
wow - looks like most everyone does machine -- maybe you should go ahead and do machine for your beloved granny square quilt. you can enjoy it much faster. don't put me in drawing as i don't quilt anymore and i am your mom.
I hand and machine quilt. Prefer hand quilting. More of a keep sake item. Love your materials. Barbara Coppock
Always machine quilt except for one that we did the knots at the corners of the blocks. Can't remember the name of the method right now. We did it because it just fit the feel of the quilt. We as in hubby and I.
I send out some of my quilt tops to the long arm quilter at my local quilt shop. I also am teaching myself to free motion quilt! Hard, but rewarding!! I don't care for hand quilting so much.....how can I pass up a chance for fabric by Emily Taylor, my daughter's name!!!!!!
LOVE THE FABRIC! I MACHINE QUILT
ALL MY QUILTS AND I HAVE LEARNED THE PATTERNS BY TRIAL AND ERROR. I HAVE DONE ALL SIZES AND THE LARGE ONES ARE BULKY BUT I GET THEM THRU.
I machine quilt the majority if my quilts. Although if they are bigger than lap size I get someone else to do it for me. Thanks for the giveaway.
My husband and I are longarm quilters, so I quilt my quilts on our longarm machine. In between client quilts. Sometimes I'll use my quilts as practice for what I'll do on the next client's quilt.
Before the longarm, I quilted them myself on my domestic sewing machine. Quite a chore!
I machine quilt. It's not the best in the whole world but I'm getting better.
I machine quilt most of my quilts. Sometimes I hand quilt but not if they are too big! ;) I usually do a free motion design of some sort.
I have sent out a couple of quilts in the past but now I do them myself on the machine. Nothing fancy but it is less expensive!
Hand quilting is what I do most, but I just took a class on a long arm machine. So much faster but I need more practice.
Love Verona! The apron panel is so cute. I quilt most small projects by hand. I've machine quilted but, mostly straight lines. I'm considering sending out the quilt top I just completed because it is so big. Thank you for the opportunity to win. Lynn
I do the machine quilting myself but I would love to send one out someday. When I get to making a special quilt and a queen or bigger, that's my plan. I am so liking the Verona line...bought some yardage from you about 2 months ago.
As somone who teaches 3 - 4 quilt classes per week, I can't afford to have all my quilts done on a long arm. So....I taught myself to quilt on my machine and it has worked out GREAT!!!!
I've only done hand quilting in the past, of course that was many years ago. Would love to learn machine quilting, especially since I now have a new machine. I would love to win a "Bundle of Verona Goodness"!! Your site is really beautiful, it's been awhile since I've been on. God Bless you and Mr. SewFab...
I do mine at home on my old Bernina. She is such a good old girl and does a great job. I would love to send a few quilts to some quilters I know that do beautiful work. Someday I will make the right quilt for that.

I hand quilt, machine quilt, and long arm, liking all in different circumstances. I have also tied but it's not my favourite. I have a small business in Geneva, Switzerland, and get all sorts of requests. :-) Thanks for the opp to win some beautiful fabrics!

Hi Jenny,
Until now, I've always done my own quilting, but after struggling with my first queen size quilt, I decided that anything that large will get done by a professional. Sometime I need to learn to do hand quilting . . .
I always quilt on my home machine...usually straight line or free motion.
I've hand quilted only one quilt so far and I've machine quilted the last 3 (one twin size and 2 baby quilts)which I found to be challenging. I'd love to have the next one professionally quilted...
Love this fabric collection!
I send all of mine out as my hands and shoulders complain too much, so had to shut them up.lol. Thanks for the chance to win.
The word "Verona" in your email drew me click over to your site and read more. I recently purchased two pieces and would love some more to go along! I always machine quilt. Thanks so much!
I free motion and stitch in the ditch the quilts that I can handle on my sewing machine (I don't have a long arm machine). The others I send out. Thanks for the chance to win the Verona pre-cuts. I love them.
For right now, I'm kind of stuck with stitching in the ditch on my home sewing machine - but, if I get a new fancy machine with a larger throat space, I might try FMQ....maybe

I can't afford to hire a professional long armer to quilt mine, so I'm learning the quilt as you go method.
THE METHOD I ENJOY THE BEST IS HAND QUILTING IN SECTIONS, THEN PIECE TOGETHER WITH BORDERS
I have always done hand quilting. I would love to try FMQ with my
treadle machine. That is what I plan on doing next. I have never
had a quilt sent to a professional
quilter. Thanks for the chance to win!
I've been machine quilting all my quilts, as it is a much cheaper way. Thanks for giving me a chance to win.
I machine quilt. Thanks for the chance to win! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this fabric!
I am pretty chicken when it comes to the actual quilting. Stitch in the ditch mostly. And it is boring. Help

I hand quilt, which takes a very long time. And, I want to learn to machine quilt on my home machine. However, since usually make queen to king sized quilts, don't quite know how to organize this. Verona would be a wonderful fabric to use.
i mostly machine quilt at home. but i would love to be able to send them out!
I'm better at hand quilting than machine quilting. Thanks for the giveaway.
I'm into hand quilting! Thanks for the chance to win!
I have done hand and machine quilting but would love to get a but would like to get a real machine quilter but they are so expensive!

I send out some for quilting and quilt some myself on my regular machine - depends on if my shoulders feel like wrestling with the quilt or not. Thanks for the chance to win.
I send out the quilts I am putting in a show of County Fair. I quilt on my machine the quilts I am giving to charitys such as CPS. I have tied quite a few that I was giving away. Love your fabric sight. Thanks for a chance to win.
Love the colors in this line. I always have good intensions of quilting quilts myself but I don't really like to quilt on my home machine. I usually end up sending them out to a long-armer or more likely, the tops pile up.
I love to machine quilt my own quilts unless they are queen size....unfortunately, I've only done a handful of quilts....maybe this is the year to finish all (well, some...let's not get carried away!) of my unfinished quilt projects!!!
Connie Hendryx
I've machine quilted a couple of baby blankets and if I ever actually finish any of my WIPs then I'm planning to try both hand and machine quilting :)
Thanks for the lovely giveaway :)
I wish I had the $ to send them out. I am fascinated with hand quilting now. I've done some hand piecing and really enjoyed it, so might try that.
I have always quilted them myself although I really need to get a better machine
Thanks!

I sent out my first quilt, but have just joined a class to learn how to hand sew and machine quilt. Each quilt is personal and will require a different approach. It will be good to have the skills to make a choice.
i do different depending on the quilt. babies i usually hand quilt it all. larger ones i either tie or some i quilt as i do the squares. i want to teach myself the freemotion quilting. gonna give it a try soon.
I'm a random machine quilter. I mean I use free-motion quilting in a random pattern. This method works great on most quilts and once you get going, it is fun to meander! Less stressful than following a line or a particular pattern. If you are learning to machine quilt, this is a good method to practice. Thanks for entering me in your give away!
Am pretty new to Quilting....did a few small hand quilting projects, but have hand-tied mostly....tho did a few Wallhanging size on my sewing machine. Am working up to machine quilting small quilt tho....just havin VERY cold feet about it! LOL
I have machine quilted all my quilts at home. Lately I've just been doing an allover stipple pattern. Thanks!
OMGosh! I so love this line. SO sweet. Hope I get a chance to play with this gorgeous fabric...
I've only completed 2 quilts (notice I said completed)and I used a decorative stitch on my machine. :)
